Family-Favorite Meatball Subs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and form into meatballs.
  3. Place meatballs in a baking dish and cover with marinara sauce. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
  4. While the meatballs are baking, split the hoagie rolls and toast them in the oven until lightly browned.
  5. Remove the meatballs from the oven and place them in the toasted hoagie rolls.
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the meatballs and return to the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and parsley if desired.
