  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gently fold in the fresh blueberries and lemon zest.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the milk, sour cream, and vanilla extract.

  8. Cut the dough into 8 wedges and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the scones. Sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
  10. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until the scones are golden brown and cooked through.
