Sizzling Skillet Lasagna

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese

  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is soft and translucent.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, chopped basil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Spread a layer of the meat sauce in the bottom of the skillet. Place 4 lasagna noodles on top.
  6. Spoon half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Repeat the layers.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Cover the skillet and cook on low heat for 25-30 minutes, or until lasagna is heated through and cheese is bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
