  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a baking dish.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the butter mixture and mix well. Fold in the date mixture.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Once the pudding is out of the oven, poke holes in it with a fork and pour half of the hot toffee sauce over the top. Let it soak for 10 minutes.
