Ingredients

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 package ladyfingers (about 24)
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting
  • Chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Dip the ladyfingers in the brewed coffee and arrange a layer at the bottom of a serving dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale.
  3. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture.
  6. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers in the dish.
  7. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  9. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate shavings.
